Today's posting will be a short one.....Jack's surgery was a success although left him exhausted - and me, too, for some reason. We had to go back into Manhattan this morning for the surgeon to check out the eye and all is absolutely fine. We had some good luck as we had an 11:30 a.m. appointment but we managed to catch a train that was ahead of the one we had planned on; got out at Penn Station and there was no one on the taxi line and about 20 cabs waiting. We jumped into a cab, had no traffic and arrived at the doctor's office at 9:45 a.m - not toooo early! Anyway, he took Jack at about 10 a.m. and we were able to catch a taxi and a train and were back in Manhasset before the 11:30 a.m. appointment would have begun!
So, we went out for lunch which was a nice treat after two hectic days and an unusual thing for us to do. It was fun but we were both so tired, we wound up sleeping the afternoon away. I am still full from lunch so I'm not sure what Jack wants to do about supper. Last night, he ate nothing.
The only funny thing that happened on the train today is that my shoe slid off my foot (don't ask) and rolled under the seat in front of me. The people in the seats did not look the sort you would tap and say, "excuse me, but my shoe is under your seat." Well, luck continued to smile because with a little bit of contortion, I managed to reach my foot under the seat and snag my shoe. So, the problem was resolved and I did not have to walk around Manhattan like Deedle, Deedle Dumpling, My Son John.
As always, love from me to you.
